Review guidelines

Reviews of email providers on my site come from members who have used the provider. I publish good and bad reviews alike, and nobody can pay to change them.

Who can write one

Any member can review a provider. Membership is free: join here. One review per provider from each member. If things change, email me to update it.

What I publish

  • Your own experience of the provider, in your own words, of at least 50 words.
  • Praise and complaints, strong opinions included, as long as they're about the provider.

What I don't publish

  • Reviews written for payment, a discount, a gift or any other reward, or by anyone who works for the provider or a competitor.
  • Swearing, abuse, hate, or anything about a private person.
  • Links, phone numbers, email addresses or other personal details.
  • Advertising, or reviews that aren't about the provider.

How I check

I read every review before it goes up. Automatic checks flag the problems above for me, and patterns that suggest fake reviews, such as a sudden burst for one provider. I never edit what you wrote. If a review breaks these rules I don't publish it or I remove it, and I never remove a review because it's negative.

My stars are separate

Members' reviews and ratings from other sites are shown in the Reviews part of each provider's page. They don't change my own stars, which come only from the facts (how I score).

Providers

Providers can't pay for reviews, for reviews to be removed, or for their order on the site. If you think a review breaks these rules, tell me which one and why.

These rules follow the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which bans fake reviews and hiding negative ones.
